WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Creativity: an original and unseen approach
  • Functionality: a balance of aesthetics and usability
  • Vision: a concept that adds value to the category

GETTING STARTED

You have complete freedom in how you interpret the concept. You may begin by reflecting on the role of the Umbrella Holder in everyday life, or by addressing a specific question or challenge you’ve observed within this product category.

Once the concept is defined, we encourage you to focus on communicating your idea clearly and effectively through a high-quality final rendering that highlights materials, proportions, and design details.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES

  • A pdf presentation (max 10MB) with a description of your concept and key details (it might also include sketches and the creative process materials)
  • 3 high-quality renders in JPG or PNG format 1920x1080px*
  • 3 high-quality renders in JPG or PNG format 1080x1350px*

*You are required to submit a total of 3 unique images, but in multiple formats (1920x1080px and 1080×1350) to ensure we have the necessary material for potential post-call publications.

Submission instructions:

Cover Image (Featured Image): In the submission form, you’ll find a field to upload a Cover Image. → Upload the best of your 3 renders, in 1920 x 1080 format.

Gallery Images: Below the cover image section, you’ll find the Gallery Images field. → Upload the remaining 5 images: 2 images in 1920×1080 format and 3 images in 1080×1350 format.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Submissions will be evaluated based on:

  • Concept Presentation: clarity and effectiveness in communicating the idea, supported by descriptions and complementary materials.
  • Originality & Innovation: the uniqueness of the concept and its potential to introduce new perspectives or solutions.
  • Visual Quality: aesthetic value, attention to detail, and overall impact of the renderings or visual representations.
  • Concept-Execution Coherence: alignment between the original idea and its final execution, ensuring consistency and credibility.

Note: If you are submitting a prototype instead of an original render, only projects developed in 2025 will be eligible. Prototypes and products created before 2025 will not be accepted.

At the sole discretion of the Jury, one Absolute Winner will be selected from among the three final Winners and awarded a €1.000 cash prize. This amount represents DesignWanted’s acquisition of the winning project, serving as compensation to the designer for their work.

*Important – Read carefully:

  • The designer designated as “Absolute Winner” shall be compensated through this prize in recognition of the work performed. For further details, please contact projects@designwanted.com
